Finding your Motherly flow

This week I asked the lovely Naomi (AKA Om.With.Noms) to share with you and I how she has found her calm and her top tips for how she improved her mindset throughout motherhood.

'Be content with what is. The more gratitude you feel, the more you will attract bliss. Know you are never lacking. For all things are one.'

Fulfilling your full potential as a Mother is such a unique and truly beautiful journey.

In this post I want to share my journey on how I found and pursued my passion for Yoga and all things Self-care with a few tips below.

Us Mothers love to criticize ourselves and others for so many things, which is craziness. There's no doubt we all make mistakes somewhere along the way because none of us have ever parented before! So my love, take a deep breathe and remind yourself what you're doing well, instead of what you are doing 'wrong'.

What I have learnt since becoming a Mother of two is that everyone, on a daily basis is learning to find their motherly, fatherly flow. You will have moments where you cannot control the situation (and when having children this happens ALOT, but that kind of makes parenting a whole lott'a fun!) these may lead to you feeling negative vibrations within you if you are tired, stressed etc. but that's all OK because you are so capable of learning how to change your neuroplasticity. This is when the brain changes shape throughout your lifetime, keeping old ways of thinking, feeling and actions. So learning and finding new pathways that you desire means that you need to repeat and direct all your fabulous energy towards them which will lead to your brain rewiring.

Now at the age of 25 I have learnt a lot about my past/present triggers, emotions, feelings and actions. I used to be a very 1 to 10 person when I became angry, stressed or upset but that was me not understanding or finding the right way to push that negative energy into positive energy through breathing techniques or movement.

What I love is that I am finding the mental clarity I have always searched for through Ashtanga Yoga practice at home, manifestation, the power of love, gratitude and the law of attraction. And now pursuing the dream to become a Yoga Teacher and one day teach children/teens and others who have dealt with mental traumas to overcome them and find love, joy and happiness through the simple things in life.

So, honestly anything is possibly.

Motherhood has been the biggest achievement in my life, it has opened my eyes and so many doors. Its had a hell of a lot of hurdles but I can happily say that they were oh so worth it! I'm sure there are a hell of a lot of you that may say the same thing. Those little bundles of joy grow as you grow, with the right tools and mindset you can achieve anything!

Learn to embrace your new title. Bring love to your new body those stretch marks are beautiful!

Remind yourself to breathe. Realise who is in charge of your brain, emotions and body...you are!

We are all here to nourish, to find what makes our mind and body come alive, to be able to live a life where we are content. Start today by taking daily actionable steps that address how you show up in this world :

1.) Movement ~ Find your flow. Is it through Asana practice, Meditation or through Mantras/Affirmations? Even dancing around your house like a loon. Turn that music up and dance like no one is watching...the kids love it too!

2.) Journal ~ Understand your triggers and emotions. You'll learn to notice a negative pattern you can take the right action, strengthen what needs to be strengthened and stick with it.

3.) Create a Self care regime. A skin care routine, having a glass of wine, bath, yoga practice (10 minutes is better than none!) Whatever suits you.

4.) LAUGH ~ Stop taking yourself & life so seriously. Bring joy to a 'shitty' situation (literally! When it comes to babies Ha!).

5.) Mama Friends ~ It can be so daunting to put yourself out there when you're feeling vulnerable but my love when you connect with the right mother and become friends, that totally fills your heart with joy. (And my lovely friend Amy Polly is creating a safe place to do that with The MamaKind Club).

Thank you so so much for reading and I hope these tips help you as much as they have helped me!
